Gove County is recognized as a Federal Opportunity Zone.  Opportunity Zones are census tracts generally composed of economically distressed communities that qualify for the Opportunity Zone designation according to the criteria outlined in 2017’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.  Since the passage of the law, Opportunity Zones have been designated in all 50 states, including ALL of Gove County (2 separate tracts).

Gove County is a ROZ county that offers ROZ incentives. This allows residents to apply for student loan repayments up to $15,000 with employer sponsorship and Kansas income tax waiver. Find more information and how to apply here.
