NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION:

STATE OF KANSAS
GOVE COUNTY

A Primary Election will be held August 6, 2024.  Candidates for the following offices will be nominated by each political party which has qualified to participate in the Primary Election:

           One candidate for United States House of Representatives, 1st District

           One candidate for State Senate, 40th District

           One candidate for State Representative, 118th District

           One candidate for District Court Judge, 23rd District, 1st & 2nd Divisions

           One candidate for County Commissioner, 2nd District

           One candidate for County Commissioner, 3rd District

           One candidate for County Clerk

           One candidate for County Treasurer

           One candidate for County Register of Deeds

           One candidate for County Sheriff

           One candidate for County Attorney

The following officers will be elected in each political party which has qualified to participate in the Primary Election:

            One Precinct Trustee in each Precinct.

            One Precinct Treasurer in each Precinct.

            One Precinct Committeeman in each Precinct.

            One Precinct Committeewoman in each Precinct.

The following Hospital Board of Trustee positions:

            Position 1, at large

            Position 5, at large

HOW CAN YOU VOTE IN THE UPCOMING ELECTION?

There are 3 ways you can cast your ballot in an election. Advance voting is a way to avoid lines or you may go to your polling place on Election Day.

ADVANCE VOTE BY MAIL

To receive a ballot by mail, call the Gove County Clerk’s Office at 785-938-2300 to receive an advance ballot application. You can return the application by fax, e-mail, mail, or in person. The sooner we have your application, the sooner we can get your ballot mailed out to you.

If returning your ballot IN PERSON, this ballot MUST be returned by 7:00 pm on Election Day to either:
-County Clerk’s office
-Any polling location within Gove county

If returning your ballot BY MAIL, this ballot MUST be postmarked by Election Day and received by the Friday after the election.

 

ADVANCE VOTE IN PERSON

Our office is providing multiple opportunities for in-person advance voting. You may place your vote through in-person advance voting at the Gove County Clerk’s office.

VOTE ON ELECTION DAY

Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Election Day.
Please remember to bring your government issued photo I.D. to vote in person. You may only vote at the precinct in which you are registered to vote. If  you are unaware of which precinct, please contact the Gove County Clerk’s Office at 785-938-2300.
